Cyan Worlds, the studio behind some of the most celebrated puzzle adventure games, is releasing its latest title on PS5 and PS4 very soon.
The team behind Myst and Riven is bringing Firmament to Sony's consoles on 2nd July 2025, with optional PSVR2 support on PS5.
The game is a Kickstarter project that began all the way back in 2019, with the finished game launching on PC in 2023. A couple of years down the line, and it's finally coming to PlayStation in just a couple of weeks.
Firmament is a first-person puzzle adventure title in much the same vein as Cyan's previous works, giving you an immersive world to explore and plenty of environmental puzzles to solve.

Reviews for the game's PC release were a little mixed; it has a 68 metascore, with most critics praising the beautiful locations and some clever puzzles while less enthused about the narrative.
Incidentally, Myst and Riven's PS1 renditions are now available in PS Plus Premium's range of retro classics.

Now is this the actual PEOPLE who made Myst, or just the STUDIO? Important question these days.
I wanna know where the Myst/Riven REMAKE Ports for PlayStation are at... Myst is already on Xbox and PC (not sure about Riven on Xbox though) sooooo 🤷♂️
@dskatter The designer is one of the studios co-founders, who also co-designed Myst and co-designed and produced Riven.
He also co-designed The Manhole, which would later become the first PC CD-ROM game, and third CDROM game on any format (after Fighting Street/Street Fighter I and Monster Lair on PCE CD)
@dskatter @Lowdefal Yeah, only like 4 people actually made Myst back in the day, including the Miller brothers (Robyn and Rand, who founded the company). Rand is still the CEO and works directly on the games.
@MrRhysReviews To be fair, both the Myst and Riven remakes are available on the correct platform for Cyan games: Mac 😛
@wildcat_kickz Yeah... But I'd have to buy a Mac, I ain't wasting all that money on one of those overpriced POS's 🤣
@MrRhysReviews You wound me, sir!
@Lowdefal @wildcat_kickz Okay, that makes me feel MUCH better. Thank you!
Been burned by too many “from the studio (not the PEOPLE) who brought you X!” lately.
Also, Mac IS the correct platform, and I’m not just saying that because I own an M4 Mac!
@dskatter The Riven remake is fantastic on M4. Highly recommend if you haven't checked it out yet.
When I bought a PSVR2 on sale a year ago, I was swayed by VR games coming to PS Plus Premium, and the hope that Firmament would be ported over.
I dropped to Essential two weeks ago, but this news makes my day. Cyan’s been having financial problems recently, so I may make this a rare “Day One” buy.
Given the completely unplayable nature of the ported Riven... It had better be better.
